I want to let you know how grateful I am for your wonderful support. You make it possible for us to show our youth love with a hot meal, a safe place to sleep, and even something as simple as a pair of shoes and socks.
That’s all a young man wanted the night he came through our doors. He walked in and asked if we had any socks and shoes we could give him. It had been raining for most of that week, and his feet had been soaking wet for days because he had holes in his shoes. We gave this grateful young man fresh socks and shoes. And we told him we would always be here for him – not just to give him shoes and socks, but to give him comfort, and guidance, and love.
These kids we see are so young, so frightened, and so very alone. The tragedy is that each of them runs away from home thinking “it can’t get any worse”, but many soon learn it can.
Lurking in the shadows are people who will use and abuse them and force them into doing things they’ll regret forever, and may even leave them terribly damaged.
That’s why we count so much on your lifesaving support because every life we save is thanks to friends like you.
In our opinion, you are fair minded and objective; maintained good focus through out the renovation, even when there were conflicts. You helped us understand the issues and resolved the difference during the construction process. In particular, the additional cost associated with the necessary change orders. You also assisted us in sorting out materials, picking up tiles, colours, finishes and recommended other speciality professionals when required during construction.
I am impressed with your talent, professionalism and knowledge. You are an effective project Manager. As the primary consultant you worked well with other consultants, contractors, our volunteers, the city hall staff and other regulatory authorities. We are very proud to have you as our architect and would highly recommend you and your professional service to other clients.
As a business instructor I had the great pleasure of working with Lu when she was enrolled in the BOSS program at Capilano University. Lu possesses the skills and drive needed to be a successful architect and business owner. She listens, problem solves, communicates and manages her time extremely effectively. As a result she works very well with customers in understanding their needs and providing creative solutions specific to those needs. Lu also has an excellent understanding of project management. She estimates very well and stays within time and budget when completing projects. Lu is building a successful business in architecture and I highly recommend that you discuss your needs with her. You will be glad you did!
On behalf of Vancouver City Council, I would like to thank you for your service to the citizens of Vancouver through your work on the First Shaughnessy Advisory Design Panel. The time and expertise that you contributed, as well as your unique perspective, were very much appreciated.
Understanding that Vancouver needs experienced and dedicated people, City Council looks forward to a continuance of your involvement in the community. Again, thank you for the time you contributed to the First Shaughnessy Advisory Design Panel.
Lu’s passion for architect(ure) comes through with her design. I particularly like the exterior she designed for my relative’s Town house. It showed a beautiful modern 21st century re-interpretation of the adjacent Heritage House. Not only do I love this modern interpretation approach, the Heritage Department Head, City of Vancouver’s Planning Department head assigned to the project and my Heritage consultant all loved it.
